Moving Right Along (Clemson & Anderson SC photographer)
The last two weeks has been a whirlwind of activity at the new house…subcontractors are literally working side by side on the interior. All of the cabinets are in & the hardware wil be installed on Monday. The granite countertops are all installed. The interior painting is almost done. The master bath is getting tiled now, so I couldn’t take any pictures of that. Most of the trim & crown molding is done, just waiting for the floors to go in. The electrical sockets have power, and the garage is filled with lighting fixtures ready to go in as soon as the painting is done. My bedroom has all of the plumbing stuff stacked in it. Stonework will be finished on Monday. The flooring and the staircase and railing is still left to do, and we are waiting for the weather to warm up before the exterior can be caulked & painted. The decks are built & need to be stained, and they need to screen the porch. Jim & I have painted the lower level with drywall primer, and are getting ready to paint the walls. Jim has tiled four of the bathrooms and is in the process of hanging all of the doors in the basement, then doing the trim. They are talking about doing the pool at the end of February – they will excavate the hole, then lift it over the house with a crane & drop it in!
The final exterior color is a dark soft green and will have creamy white trim with brown door & shutters.

There’s an indent for the TV above the fireplace, and the hearth is high enough to sit on.

Here I hope you can see the colors…the walls are a gray-green, and the ceiling is a gray-blue. Everything changes and blends together depending on the light. I was really nervous about these choices, but it is more perfect than I’d hoped for – brings the lake & the trees and the sky right in!

This is taken from the bridge. Our main lake view. I will of course be putting large photographs on the shelf!

The kitchen & office are both painted “macadamia”, a sandy color with gold undertones.

Looks yellow here but it isn’t. I really wanted to show the built in window seat & cabinets but they are all covered up right now for protection. Can’t see it but there is a large pantry to the right.

One of the upstairs guest rooms. Both of the upstairs rooms have a windowseat.

See our Terrible Towel hanging from the rail on the right?

Site of the pool and hot tub. The hot tub will be elevated about a foot and waterfall into the pool. It will be surrounded by the same stone as the fireplace & front of the house.
