Because at one time or another I had them all, and I think this is a really cool idea. I bet you could do it in a media room with records, tape reels, 8-tracks, cassettes, cds, walkman, videotapes, etc. I found the idea here

I just KNEW that this was going to be a great session from the minute these two booked me as their photographer. Lauren has such style, and she knows exactly what she likes and wants in her wedding planning. One thing that will definitely be included is her Dad’s cherished vintage corvette convertible, and when we brought up the possibility of using it in their engagement shoot there was no hesitation. We did part of their session at Mingo, then headed to her house for the shots with the car. By this time it was POURING, so we were limited to the gargage but I actually kinda liked the mood the lighting gave us. And HOW ABOUT THOSE FABULOUS SHOES! (her wedding colors are yellow and black and white)

Here is an easy (but maybe a little pricey) recipe that is good enough for a special occasion or company. I got it from allrecipes but adjusted it a little (this serves four):
Peppered Shrimp Alfredo
10 oz penne pasta
1/4 butter
2 T olive oil
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1/2 pound portobella mushrooms, chopped
1 lb medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
16 oz jar classico red pepper alfredo sauce
1/2 c grated romano chees
1/2 c cream
1 tsp cayenne
salt & pepper
1/4 c chopped parsley
!. Cook pasta and drain.
2. Meanwhile, melt butter together with the olive oil in a saucepan over med heat. Stir in onion, & cook till softened & translucent, about 2 minutes. Stir in garlic, red pepper, & mushroom; cook over med-high heat until soft, about 2 minutes more.
3. Stir in the shrimp & cook until firm & pink, then pour in alfredo sauce, romano cheese, & cream; bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with cayenne, salt & pepper to taste. Stir drained pasta into sauce and serve sprinkled with parsley.

I have been photographing Ethan annually since he was three. His mom is someone who absolutely treasures her son and appreciates the gift that she has in him! Rose always tells me that she makes the effort to get his session done yearly, so that she is under no real pressure the rest of the year to worry about documenting his growth and personality by carrying a camera to every single function.
One great benefit of choosing a custom photographer is having 30 or more great images of your child, all showcasing a different look or quirky smile that you will want to remember long after he has grown. It always makes me a little sad when people only use a volume-driven mall studio to photograph their children, citing the price of custom photography. I certainly understand that not everyone can afford it annually without some sacrifice, yet I see the same people spend more on toys and clothes that will be long outgrown and forgotten than they do on pictures – which will last a lifetime!
Here are a few of Ethan that I pulled off my harddrive from 2006, and some of his session this year – look how much he has grown!

2009 – oh my gosh, I could cry! Look how grown up he is!

And I’ll bet this is the last year Dad will be able to lift him on his shoulders -

Found this new way to prepare turkey for Thanksgiving here
1. Cut out aluminum foil in desired shapes.
2. Arrange the turkey in the roasting pan, position the foil carefully (see below )
3. Roast according to your own recipes and serve.
4. Watch your guests’ faces.

A beautiful fall day + a gorgeous, happy bride + a cool handsome groom = a perfect wedding day! I have known Allison since she was a little girl, and I KNEW she would be a beautiful bride. What I didn’t know is that I would be lucky enough to capture it! Take a look:

Love the joy and anticipation in her happy smile, just as the doors to the church swing open for the walk down the aisle…

Father-daughter dance - I think his expression says it all:

The flower girl pretends it’s her wedding dance – and before you know it, it will be!

Congratulations you two! Jason and I had a ball!
