Family vacation photos Lake Keowee | baby blues

May 27th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

Nicole & Steve and baby Eislen were here for almost a week, so I thought I would have plenty of time to get some good images…but as usual, somehow the time slipped away and we found ourselves scrambling on their last evening here to get some shots in. Some of my favorites:

Will keep them entertained for a little while

May 21st, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

So, for $2.58 I picked up the stuff at Lowes to make a fun little game that will keep your kids (and maybe you, too!) entertained for at least a little while…which with summer vacation right around the corner might come in handy. It would be a fun project to do together with them, too. So here is what you need to get, along with some twine:

The ring is about 2 inches, if that gives you an idea of scale. You need to find a place that has a post with a support over it – ideally a porch, or a deck, or maybe a swing set. Insert the threaded hook into the post at about 48 inches high from the ground. Insert the eye hook above at about 4-5 feet from the post and lined up with the hook. Tie the string to the eye hook above and then tie the ring on one the other end at a length that  just allows the ring to fit on the hook.

Then try to swing the ring onto the hook. You may need to twist out the screwed hook a little; there needs to be enough room between it & the post to allow the ring to bounce.

Be prepared to spend lots of time at it – it gets competitive! And yes, I’m better than Jim at it.

The Uniform Project

May 12th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

One girl, one dress, one year, and one very good cause – raising money to fund uniforms and educational expenses for kids living in Indian slums. The objective was simple: one girl exercises sustainable fashion for an entire year by wearing one dress that’s decked out differently each day with recycled jewelry and other accessories.

Now THIS is something I would buy in a minute -

May 12th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

I don’t have an iPhone, although I would love it, simply because of the at&t requirement. All of my family is on Verizon, so that makes it better for me to have a Blackberry, and truthfully, my bb does all I need it to and more. I do have a Touch, which is pretty handy (except when I’m not near WiFi) and I use it a lot. I love the look of the new iPad, but really at this point can’t see what it has to offer me over the Touch. But THIS – oh, my – THIS I could use!

Alas, only a concept for now; but read about it here

Pendleton SC photographer | more of McKinsey

May 11th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

I’m editing McKinsey’s session and just thought I would share a few more, so those of you who are thinking about senior pictures don’t think that all I do are waterfall pictures! Plenty of more casual shots that will please even the traditionalists…

Anderson SC photographer // senior pictures

May 10th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

I had such a fun day on Saturday – McKinsey & her manager/PR person Eddie, as well as her ultra-coordinated assistant Jessica, came for her senior session.  OK, so Eddie is actually her uncle and Jessica is her sister, but we got a lot of looks and attention while we were trudging up and down Twin Falls in an old prom dress and cowboy boots/pink converses! Everyone was wondering who would be crazy enough to risk climbing the slippery rocks and going in the FREEZING mountain water for a photo shoot, and were sure that McKinsey was a model.

Well after Saturday I can say she IS a real model! She cheerfully did whatever we thought of to get some cool images, including being pushed stepping into an ice- cold stream and teetering on a rock 75 feet high in a strong wind under the falls.  I love the results!

Upper St Clair Senior Portraits | love that wakeboard!

May 9th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

Sometimes things just work out perfectly…like JT’s senior picture session. He & his mom were here in Clemson to pick up his older sister from college, so they were able to spend a day on Lake Keowee with us and that’s where we shot all of his images! Just love it when I get to do something a little different from most senior sessions, and I especially love it when it just really shows off WHO this person is right now, and who he is becoming. Can someone make these for me? You know that although I love to cook, I hate to bake. But these are tempting me…S’Mores cupcakes!

Anderson SC Senior Photography | Cherise

May 7th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

I was just waiting for a chance to be able to photograph a senior at the waterfalls near me, and it just so happened that Cherise scheduled her session on a perfect day to go there. I was a little surprised at how HARD it was to get up close (pretty darn slippery for this nanna!) and how much wind was created by the falls. It was a blast, though, and so worth it – I can’t wait to go back for some more sessions!
