I am always on the lookout for a great, easy recipe and I found a new one this spring while we were on vacation . I am much better at photographing children and families than food, but I wanted to show you my latest favorite appetizer. I guess this has been around for a while, but seriously this is the first time I have been served it so I thought I would share with all of you. It’s Cream Cheese Wasabi Spread, and you mix it up fast and serve it with crackers. Ingredients? One eight-oz block of cream cheese, soy sauce, toasted sesame seeds and black sesame seeds (found in Asian food aisle), and wasabi (also found in Asian food aisle – I used the kind in a tube).
Just split the cream cheese lengthwise (I used dental floss!), spread a very thin layer of wasabi between the layers, sprinkle with soy sauce and then the sesame seeds. You can wrap in plastic wrap and put back in the fridge for a few hours, then serve with crackers. I didn’t find it too “hot” but you may want to vary the wasabi. Go ahead and try it!
