Photographer in Anderson, SC: A Girl and a gown on the beach

September 20th, 2011 , Posted in Uncategorized

Here are a few more from Arden’s session on the beach at Lake Keowee. I made my husband carry the red sette down to the beach for this session because I knew it would look so good with the gown and the sand, and I knew Arden would rock it for posing – and she did!

McMurray PA wedding photographer: just a peek

September 19th, 2011 , Posted in Uncategorized

I just got back yesterday from a whirlwind trip to PA to shoot RJ and Stephanie’s wedding. The first thing I do when I get home from any session is to download the images that I captured. In the case of weddings, that translates to about 9 cards worth, or around 1400 images. Jason and I both shoot every part of each wedding. In case one of us has a memory card or equipment failure, we can be sure that we are still capturing everything. We change cards frequently, so that if we ever lose a card, we won’t lose a ton of images along with it. After I download the images, I back them up on my hard drive, an external hard drive, dvds, and online. So even if my house burns down, I still have the images! After that is done, I start going through everything we captured and select the best shots, eliminating duplicates, blinks or the occasional out of focus shot. We usually end up with 400 or more great ones.  That’s where I am right now. Tomorrow I will start the editing process, which will take me a couple of days to complete. BUT as I was going through the images, I picked out what I think was my favorite shot that Jason captured:

And this might be my favorite from the shots that I captured:

Both of these used off camera flash to highlight the beautiful light at dusk that we were shooting in. I have a feeling that there may be lots more “favorites” coming up – I’ll be sure to post more after I finish the editing. Meanwhile, I hope these two are having a fabulous time in Aruba!

For Jen and for everyone

September 14th, 2011 , Posted in Uncategorized

My friend Jen Burgess Thompson, who is battling ovarian cancer, had this video and photo shoot done by her amazing friends just before her surgery and the beginning of her treatment. There are no words that can describe how special it is. Please pray for her, and hug your loved ones tight. I really want to do this with my family, and I don’t want to wait until something happens that makes me wish I did.

Charleroi PA photographer; delightful

September 12th, 2011 , Posted in Uncategorized

The delightful Chapin (who, yes, was named by her dad after musician Harry Chapin) came to her session absolutely ready for anything, including getting into an ice cold stream in a formal gown. LOVE this girl’s fashion flair, and LOVE the images we got – they are as unique and beautiful as she is:

Time Is Flying By: fall sessions

September 11th, 2011 , Posted in Uncategorized

I only have a few spaces left for my PA sessions during the weekend of October 7-8-9. Please call  or email me as soon as possible if you need a session! I will only be traveling there once more after this, in mid-November, which puts it pretty close to the Holiday madness. Do yourself a favor – photograph your precious family, and do it early enough so that you can have time to get the gifts and cards you need. Don’t forget I have digital collections now, so you can print cards and coffee cups and all sorts of fun family gifts!

Peters Township, McMurray PA senior portraits: Gretchen

September 8th, 2011 , Posted in Uncategorized

I also photographed Gretchen’s older sister and brother for their high school senior portraits, and now it’s her turn! We had a HOT day at Mingo Park, but she stayed cool and beautiful throughout. I love to photograph different members of a family because I love seeing the resemblances and the differences. At times I thought she looked a lot like Emily, and other times she looked like Christian – but yet Gretchen has a look that’s all her own.  She simply can’t NOT smile! And looking at these images of her makes ME smile…

Canonsburg PA childrens photographer: rockin’ it!

September 2nd, 2011 , Posted in Uncategorized

I haven’t seen Abby in a while, and , wow, was I surprised to see how much she has grown and changed! The last time I photographed her she was a BUSY toddler, to the point where it was a struggle to get her to hold still long enough for a good image. Now she is so calm and laid back, loved to pose for me, and so sweet and smart! It was a joy to photograph her, and I got so many good images that it really was hard to pick. Here are a few of my favorites:

Just one for now: Gassaway Mansion wedding

September 1st, 2011 , Posted in Uncategorized

Just a sneak peek at one that caught my eye as I am working on Chris & Nyletta’s wedding images – anyone can get good images of a beautiful bride outside where the light is good, but inside a dark and gorgeous mansion it’s a whole different story. Of course, having a bride this stunning helps!
