I have been photographing these children annually since they were born, but this year it almost didn’t happen. They had sports and activities and it was getting close to the holidays, so our potential dates were limited…and then there was the rain that we awoke to on the day of our session. Their mom and I decided that we would just do a quick shot for the family Christmas card, in the rain if we had to, and then do a full session in the spring. We were both sad at this because we know how fast they are growing, and Erin doesn’t want to miss documenting it. But, amazingly enough, when I arrived at their farm the rain stopped and the light improved and we did it! And the very minute that we finished, it started raining again! It just proves once again that I almost never have to cancel a session for weather, because unless it is actively pouring, we get it done.
After all, snuggling together for some photos with Mom doesn’t require a lot of time or space or perfect weather – but it does make for perfect images!
I love how soft and pretty the colors in these images are, and the closeness of Erin with her children. It’s pretty clear that they are fast approaching the days when they will not fit so easily onto her lap, and the images of these snuggles will be even more precious as time goes on. These are the types of photographs that mean the most. Don’t trust your memories to just anyone with a camera; a professional will make sure to capture you at your best. As a family photographer in Washington PA or in Clemson SC, I make sure that you love the way you look in the photographs.
