Professional Family Photographer for The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards, Sunset, SC 29685
My Blog has been woefully neglected as I have been recovering from an exceptionally busy Fall and Winter photography session schedule. I want to make sure to share some of the wonderful families that I’ve had the privilege to photograph during that time. As you may know, my favorite, favorite, FAVORITE subjects are extended families. I just love getting close relationship images of grandparents, parents and children. In fact, my business is pretty much focused on those types of images. There are many good photographers who do not really like to deal with large family groups and prefer to focus on single portraits of children or newborns, or a single family because of the challenges that they present. But I adore it, and relish the chance to give these families the beautiful and precious professional images of their extended families that they deserve.
This family was going to be together at their Lake Keowee house at The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards over Christmas, and wanted to take advantage of everyone being together to capture some great images at the home that they love so much. I wholeheartedly agree that it adds even more to their family portrait session when it is done at a place with meaning to them. There were plenty of iphones around to capture candid moments throughout their time together, but they knew they wanted a professional photographer that was near Sunset, SC and could come to them at their location for a real, quality session of all of them.
It’s a distinct advantage to have a photographer come to your house when you have so many people, including babies, to be photographed. As you can imagine, it can be a bit chaotic to get everyone ready and in a great mood at the same time, let alone have to drive to another location in several cars. On this particular day, we also did not have the luxury of rescheduling due to weather, which was gray and drizzly. This is when hiring a professional pays off – I was totally prepared with supplemental lighting if we needed it. It simply would have been a crime to NOT capture these all-too-rare occasions when everyone is at the same place at the same time.
It sprinkled here and there for some of our shoot, but there is no one faster than me at posing large groups and getting all of the different combos done 🙂 We just took the babies inside while the others had their turns, and it all worked out beautifully. Take a look at what we were able to capture, and I think you will agree that there just isn’t anything better than these moments.
If YOUR family will be gathering together this year, consider taking advantage of the opportunity to capture wonderful portraits like these.
