So I have a little ad that runs on our community TV channel, sort of looks like a slideshow set to music. I get to change the ad out every month, so here is April’s – I thought it fit pretty well with the April showers we’ve been getting. (this is youngest dd Allison on our beach before she left for Argentina, btw!)
I will be in PA for sessions the weekend of May 2-3-4 and I have ONE more session available. If you are interested, give me a call or shoot me an email.
I will also be available in PA the weekend of June 6-7-8. All previous clients of mine get 2007 pricing, and if you get a friend to book the same weekend, you will both get 1/2 off your session fee! Call or email as soon as you can to reserve your spot!

This looks pretty nice – anything to solve the "what-do-I-do-with-these-beautiful-photos" problem!

From Red Envelope
After 10 days on the road, it feels good to be back home. We got to see 4 of the girls (& assorted husbands & grandkids) and some of our friends, so that was worth it. Killington skiing wasn’t so great – ICY – but the company was a hoot and we had fun anyway, so it was all good.
Lots of catching up to do! I’ll be returning emails and inquiries today (and doing a mountain of laundry) and then I’ll be able to get back into posting some fun things on the Blog! Lots of news to share – check back soon!

Abby’s mom sent me this snapshot of the images that she had framed & hung…don’t they look great? These are (3) 16x20s, matted & framed to about 20×24. She will be able to change these out as Abby grows. How can you ask for more beautiful art on your walls than photos of your beautiful children?

Since we will be building soon, I’m watching HGTV nonstop and reading all kinds of info on the internet related to appliances, flooring, etc….trying to make wise decisions related to quality versus design versus PRICE. One interesting tidbit I came across was a "consumer reports" synopsis that said that of all house paints (interior) tested, that the store brands did as well or better than the national brands, for much less $$$. Behr (Home Depot) was top rated, and even Walmart did very well! This has kind of been our experience, too. I used Walmart paint in our lower level in our other home and thought it went on very well & covered just as well as the Sherwin Williams I used before. Jim also said that Behr was the ONLY paint that lasted on our front porch for any length of time. Just thought I’d pass this along in case you are getting the itch to paint for Spring!
I’m pretty lazy when it comes to the whole green
movement, because we have never had recycling at our fingertips. However, I do feel mildly guilty about all of the plastic bags that I’m using. They say the average household blasts through a thousand a year – and they don’t degrade. I thought about making the switch to
reusable bags, but I can never seem to remember to take regular bags with me, let alone on an unexpected stop at the grocery store or a department store. When I saw these on the Birds and Bills blog, I got inspired to order them from this website: Envirosax I’ll keep them in my purse or car. They have cool designs – I got a set of 5 contemporary ones. They say each will hold about 2 plastic bags worth; should be more than enough for me.

After 5 years, my special photo-processing crt monitor bit the dust – and I was horrified to learn that you can only get LCD monitors now. Why is this bad? Well, because the LCD monitors are extremely bright & washed out, making my images that are calibrated to my monitor for printing at a pro lab look terrible. I have spent all week dialing in new settings to try to get it close to what I had. BUT – I can tell you this – if you have one of these monitors, turn the brightness and the contrast WAY down and you will be much happier with the way pictures look on your screen!

Jim left for his annual week to go skiing with his friend Greg, and I left for a weekend drive of, oh, 1500 miles! Went to Stacey’s on Friday to visit her & David & the grand-dolls, then drove to Pittsburgh on Sunday to do an engagement shoot & watch the race with my neighbors, then on Monday visited with my mom & grandmother, had lunch with a friend, spent some time with Jessica, then met my friends for dinner Monday night! Left at 6:30 am on Tuesday to drive home. I’m ready to stay home for awhile. Anyway, here are a few shots of Genevieve and ONE of Gavin, who is now not cooperating for pictures just as Genna is getting better.
