I have been photographing Ethan annually since he was three. His mom is someone who absolutely treasures her son and appreciates the gift that she has in him! Rose always tells me that she makes the effort to get his session done yearly, so that she is under no real pressure the rest of the year to worry about documenting his growth and personality by carrying a camera to every single function.
One great benefit of choosing a custom photographer is having 30 or more great images of your child, all showcasing a different look or quirky smile that you will want to remember long after he has grown. It always makes me a little sad when people only use a volume-driven mall studio to photograph their children, citing the price of custom photography. I certainly understand that not everyone can afford it annually without some sacrifice, yet I see the same people spend more on toys and clothes that will be long outgrown and forgotten than they do on pictures – which will last a lifetime!
Here are a few of Ethan that I pulled off my harddrive from 2006, and some of his session this year – look how much he has grown!
2009 – oh my gosh, I could cry! Look how grown up he is!
And I’ll bet this is the last year Dad will be able to lift him on his shoulders –
