Washington PA photography | family time
Sometimes you know someone special who gives everything to others – her time, her money, and her heart. I did a special call at Christmas last year for stories about someone who deserved/would appreciate a Casual Moments photography session and accepted nominations. The winner wasn’t able to complete her session, and the runner up was Jade – who nominated her mom, Susan. Here is what she wrote:
“My mother is a very generous person, giving without complaint of her time and energy to others who are in need of assistance. She is a regular volunteer at our church, helping out with a number of functions throughout the year. I regularly see her helping her elderly neighbors by sneding food over or just giving them a visit or a phone call for some companionship.
For over 5 years she was the primary care-giver to my grandmother until she passed away this summer. She was “on-call” 24 hours a day, making sure that my grandmother not only was healthy and safe, but also that she was happy. Now that my grandmother is gone, she has taken on the role of caretaker for my son Tyler as well as making sure my father is healthy as well.
There truly is nothing that my mother will not do to help somoene. There is not a day that goes by for me, my sister, or my father without her helping in some way. With the economy the way that it is right now, she financially would never be able to afford something extravagant like custom photography of the family, but she would treasure it, no doubt.”
Happily, we were able to do their session this fall. I am always thrilled to help families capture their memories, and it is doubly rewarding when those images are so dearly loved!
