Shopping Time! Day Two, Where’s George rubber stamp

Today’s shopping suggestion is for a great gift for kids – your own, or perhaps a niece or nephew – and it is fun for adults, too! It’s a way to learn about paper money circulation.  Where’s George? is a dollar bill tracking website that lets you know where the bills in your pocket end up after you spend them.

It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s free.

All you do is log onto and enter the bills you have into the website.

Then write or stamp on the bill, being careful not to obscure any of the security features. Here is where you can get things started, by purchasing a fun rubber stamp to mark your bills. I got mine from The Stamp Connection for less than $20 shipped:

And finally, spend the money at a local merchant. In time, another person will see your bill and log onto and update the bill’s current location. The website will notify you when this happens. It’s so much fun to see how far your bill has traveled! There are all kinds of fun facts about money circulation on the site, and graphs and such to see which bill has gotten the most hits, etc.

Just remember ENTER, MARK, SPEND, OR E-M-S. It’s that easy.
