My grandmother’s birthday was always easy to remember because it was on Groundhog Day. I miss her, but the grief is mostly overwhelmed by smiles and happy (and funny) memories. This photo is beyond special to me and my brother and sister. I can’t really remember this time and place in exact detail, but I do remember her piling us into her car (no seatbelts or car seats of course) and taking us on adventures (and giving my mom a break!). I love looking at the details of the image, and especially seeing her as a young and vibrant Nonnie. PLEASE – make sure that you photograph your children with their grandparents. You can’t imagine what a special gift you will be giving them.

And even better if it’s a beautiful, sharply focused and perfectly exposed professional image where you can actually see their expressions and eyes.

They deserve it.
